In book four of Machine Girl, Victoria is attempting to acclimate herself to still further changes in her body and her relationship with the machines and humans in her life. With her flesh legs destroyed, A.D.A.M., Eugene, Yuen-Ja and David build her new ones but wearing them makes her appear even less human and more like the machine her enemies claim she is becoming. While she resents the implication, part of her embraces what is beginning to feel natural and logical. The line between human and machine becomes thinner, blurred and threatens to vanish entirely.
